Cricket Gear Buying Guide India
A complete cricket kit should be built around fit, playing level and the type of cricket you actually play. Start with the bat and protective equipment, then add footwear, a helmet where required and a bag that suits the amount of gear you carry.
1. Start with the bat
Choose the correct bat size first, then compare willow type, profile and pickup. A more expensive bat is not automatically easier to use.
Use the Cricket Bat Size Calculator before choosing a size.
2. Fit protective gear properly
Batting gloves, pads and thigh protection should stay secure without restricting movement. Helmet fit needs extra care because an oversized helmet can shift during play.
3. Match footwear to the surface
Rubber and soft-spike shoes suit many training and hard-surface uses; metal spikes are intended for suitable grass wickets and conditions.
4. Build the kit around your level
Junior and occasional players do not need the same specification as senior competitive cricketers. Prioritise fit and usable protection before premium upgrades.
